Best ChatGPT ads trackers in 2026: six tools compared

A side-by-side look at six tools that track who advertises in ChatGPT: what each records, how often it checks, which markets it covers, and what the plan with ad tracking costs.

Best ChatGPT ads trackers in 2026

OpenAI’s Ads Manager shows your own campaigns: impressions, clicks, spend and conversions. It doesn’t show who else is advertising on the questions your customers ask, which questions your ads missed, or what competitors’ ads say. There’s no public ChatGPT ad library and no auction insights report. To see the market, you need a tool that asks ChatGPT those questions repeatedly and records every ad that appears.

A handful of tools now do this. This guide compares the six we think are most worth a look, including ours. We make Metistic, so read our entry with that in mind. For every other tool we’ve used only what the vendor publishes, and linked to it. Prices and features were checked in early November 2026.

Quick answer

  • Metistic: built only for ChatGPT ads, with a free plan and product ad prices. Covers 53 markets, from $79/month.
  • Promptwatch: broad AI visibility suite. Its Ads Radar also covers Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, but starts at $579/month.
  • Adthena: built for ChatGPT ads, one flat $399/month. Prompts are generated from your categories.
  • SE Ranking: ChatGPT and Google AI Mode ads inside an SEO suite you may already pay for.
  • Peec AI: AI visibility tool with an ads library on every plan. Countries are limited per plan.
  • Rankshift: AI visibility tool with ads alongside organic tracking, from €69/month billed annually.

What a ChatGPT ads tracker should do

Every tool here works the same basic way: it runs a set of questions (prompts) in ChatGPT on a schedule and records the sponsored results. The differences are in the details, and these are the ones that change what you can learn:

  • Your own questions. You should be able to track the exact questions your customers ask, not only a generic category set.
  • Markets. ChatGPT shows different ads in different countries. A tool should run checks from the market you sell in, and say which markets it covers.
  • How often it checks. The same question returns different ads on different runs. One check a day gives you a sample; several a day show you more of the rotation.
  • What it records. At minimum: advertiser, headline, description, destination and the question. For shopping questions, product ads with the product and price.
  • The checks with no ad. To calculate how often an ad appears, a tool needs to count the runs where it didn’t. Questions where nobody advertises are also where an ad would face no competition.
  • Price for the ads features. Several tools put ad tracking on their higher plans only, so compare the price of the plan that includes it, not the entry price.

If you want to understand the method before buying anything, our guide to tracking ChatGPT ads shows how to do it by hand.

1. Metistic

Metistic only tracks ads in ChatGPT. You add the questions your customers ask, choose a market for each, and it records every sponsored result: the advertiser, the creative, the destination, and for shopping questions, the product and its price. Checks run on each market’s local time, and each one uses a different account from the one before, so you see more of the rotation than a single account would.

  • Tracks: your ad presence and gaps, competitors and share of voice, an ad creative library, questions where no ads appear, and competitor product ads and prices on paid plans.
  • Price: Free for 10 prompts in one market, with daily checks. Starter is $79/month for 50 prompts in one market, checked 4 times a day, with alerts and CSV exports. Growth is $299/month for 200 prompts across any of the 53 markets, with hourly tracking available and scheduled PDF reports.
  • Best for: advertisers and agencies who want to know who is advertising on their questions, in the countries they sell in, without paying for an AI visibility suite.
  • Limits: ChatGPT only. It doesn’t track organic mentions in AI answers or other assistants, and it doesn’t connect to your OpenAI Ads account, so use Ads Manager for your own spend and conversions.

2. Promptwatch

Promptwatch is an AI visibility platform covering more than a dozen assistants. Its Ads Radar records ads from the responses its monitors already collect, in ChatGPT Search, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. For each ad it keeps the title, description, image or price, advertiser and domain, target URL, and the prompt and response it appeared in.

  • Price: Ads Radar is included from the Business plan at $579/month (350 prompts, 5 projects) and on agency plans. The $95 and $245 plans show sample data only.
  • Best for: teams that want organic AI visibility across many assistants and ads in both ChatGPT and Google’s AI results, in one tool.
  • Limits: the price of entry for ads is high if ads are what you need. Its documentation doesn’t say how often ads are collected beyond the monitor schedule.

3. Adthena

Adthena is a long-standing search ads intelligence company, and its ChatGPT Ads Intelligence is a separate product. Instead of writing prompts yourself, you give it your top 10 categories and it generates the prompts, then suggests more through a feature it calls Prompt Expansion.

  • Tracks: every brand advertising on your categories, share of ChatGPT search, a searchable ad library with competitors’ copy word for word, and benchmarks for headlines and landing pages.
  • Price: $399/month flat after a 21-day free trial with no card. Monthly plans need 30 days’ notice to cancel.
  • Best for: search teams already used to Adthena, or anyone who would rather not build a prompt list.
  • Limits: the page doesn’t name the markets covered, say how often your prompts are checked, or mention product ads.

4. SE Ranking

SE Ranking is an SEO platform. Its ChatGPT ads tracker sits inside Competitive Research with no separate contract or add-on, and detects ads across your tracked prompts. It covers ChatGPT and Google AI Mode.

  • Tracks: the advertiser and the link each ad carries, and how presence changes month over month.
  • Price: plans start at $129/month, or $103.20/month billed annually. The base plans include a small number of AI prompts; tracking more needs SE Ranking’s AI visibility add-on.
  • Best for: SEO teams already on SE Ranking who want a first look at ChatGPT ads without another subscription.
  • Limits: SE Ranking says detection runs on a “recurring cadence” without giving the interval, and doesn’t list the markets covered. It mentions the offer an advertiser leads with but doesn’t say whether full ad copy is stored.

5. Peec AI

Peec AI tracks how brands appear across AI assistants, and includes an ads library on every plan. It shows the advertisers on your tracked prompts, what they promote, their destination URLs, how many times each ad was seen, and a link to the conversation where it appeared.

  • Price: Starter is $95/month for 50 prompts in 1 country. Pro is $245/month for 150 prompts in 3 countries. Advanced is $495/month for 350 prompts in 3 countries. Prompts run daily.
  • Best for: brands that mainly want organic AI visibility, with ads as an extra.
  • Limits: ad tracking covers ChatGPT only, and Peec’s help page lists ad support in seven countries: the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea. Country limits per plan matter if you sell in several markets.

6. Rankshift

Rankshift is an AI search visibility tool. Its ChatGPT ads tracking runs your prompts on a schedule and captures the sponsored placements, with each creative and the prompt that surfaced it.

  • Tracks: full creative and destination URL, the trigger prompt, how often each ad was seen, an ads library, an advertiser leaderboard and share of voice.
  • Price: Starter is €69/month billed annually for 150 prompts a day and 9,500 credits, or €77 billed monthly. Professional is €159 and Business €359 a month, billed annually. There’s a 30-day free trial with no card.
  • Best for: SEO and content teams who want organic AI tracking across several assistants, with ChatGPT ads alongside it.
  • Limits: prompts refresh daily or weekly, and usage is metered in credits. The ads page doesn’t list the markets covered.

Other options

  • Gauge: shows competitors’ ad copy on your tracked prompts, and can connect to your OpenAI Ads account so your own spend and clicks sit alongside.
  • LLM Pulse, Writesonic: AI visibility tools with ChatGPT ads tracking on your prompts. Writesonic also covers shopping ads in Google AI Overviews.
  • Profound: connects to your OpenAI Ads account to report your own ChatGPT ad data alongside organic visibility. It doesn’t say it tracks competitors’ ads.
  • GrowByData, Trendos Ad Radar: smaller tools built around ad monitoring.

How to choose

  • You mainly care about ads, and want to start free: Metistic.
  • You also need organic visibility across many assistants and Google’s AI results: Promptwatch, if the Business plan fits your budget, or Peec AI.
  • You don’t want to write prompts: Adthena.
  • You already pay for SE Ranking: try its tracker before adding a tool.
  • You want an AI visibility suite with ads included, at a low entry price: Rankshift.
  • You sell in several countries: check how many markets each plan covers, and whether it costs a prompt per market.

Common questions

Is there an official ChatGPT ad library?

No. OpenAI’s Ads Manager only shows your own campaigns. The libraries in these tools are built from their own checks, so each one only contains ads that appeared on the prompts it ran.

Can I track ChatGPT ads for free?

Yes, by hand: ask your customers’ questions on an ad-eligible account and record every result, including “no ad”. Our tracking guide explains how. Metistic’s free plan automates this for 10 prompts in one market.

Do these tools show competitors’ spend?

No tool can see real spend, because OpenAI doesn’t share it. What they measure is how often each advertiser appears on the questions tracked. Some, like Peec, turn that into an estimated spend tier, which is a guess based on presence.

Why does the same question show different ads?

ChatGPT runs an auction each time, and the result depends on the conversation, the market and the advertisers bidding at that moment. That’s why one check proves little. Read more on which prompts trigger ChatGPT ads.
